Australian film company 18 Degrees has opened a new film and video production Brisbane studio which promises to be a vortex of television commercial production, film and creative video content.

The team already works with some of Australia’s top agencies and companies including Flight Centre, Cruiseabout, Ramsay Healthcare and Allianz in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Director Mel Poole said the 18 Degrees team specialises in working with brands to provoke emotion through visual storytelling.

“Our art as filmmakers is to connect with the audience and make them feel – whether that is directing a commercial or a film,” Ms Poole said.

“Brand videos and commercials now have to be far more genuine and relatable and our team has many years of experience working with agencies and marketing managers to translate their creative in an engaging way.”

The film and video production company launched five years ago in Brisbane and has also since produced two feature films, with several more in the pipeline.

“As well as our commercial clients we are passionate about bringing more film projects to Queensland.”

18 Degrees was co-founded by highly acclaimed cinematographer and director Dan Macarthur who has worked with academy-award winning actors like Russell Crowe and Cuba Gooding Jnr and has won a plethora of awards for his commercial and film work.

The film production company has also appointed AFI-winning Visual Artist and Motion Graphics guru Georgie Pinn who will add another dimension, literally, to their work.

“Georgie has worked with some of Australia’s events, festivals and producers and will allow us to add cutting edge motion graphics, live video production and a next level of pizazz to our mix,” Ms Poole said.

With the opening of the fresh Brisbane space, the team has also launched new tailored video marketing packages which allows brands to have access to ongoing monthly video production and support.
