HP shoots latest commercials in COVID-free Queensland
Hewlett Packard has chosen COVID-free Queensland as the location for their latest commercial shoot, overseen by Queensland director Mel Poole of 18 Degrees Films.
The shoot consisted of four commercials showcasing HP’s new Healthcare printing range in hospital settings which were impossible to shoot in the US due to COVID19 restrictions.
Director Mel Poole worked with California-based agency Creative Drive to bring HP’s vision to the screen – featuring over 30 local cast.
“It was truly an international collaboration – we had a live link to the US and France to ensure both the agency and client (HP) were across the production each step of the way,” Poole said.
The 18 Degrees production design team ensured the location resembled a US hospital, with custom made signage, badges and uniforms.
The commercials were shot by award-winning Australian DOP Dan Macarthur alongside product photographer Erik Williamson, who masterfully captured the new HP range.
“We are working with several international agencies who are looking at Queensland as an attractive and safe location to shoot during the pandemic,” said Ms Poole.
“Queensland locations and talent are so diverse, which really helps us match settings and cast for almost anywhere in the world.”
Queensland has been sort after as a COVID-free film location for the past several months – with film crew adhering to strict safety procedures to ensure it stays that way.
